Protected Areas for Threatened Primate Species - Endangered (EN) IUCN Red List

The Primate Specialist Group has assessed the status of African primate species. At the species level, 156 species are considered threatened, with 43 listed as Critically Endangered (CR), 69 as  Endangered (EN), and 44 as Vulnerable (VU).

 

The map shows the percentage of  Endangered (EN)primates species habitats protected by different protected area categories

. We grouped protected areas by IUCN categories such as ia and ib, II and III, and iv,v,vi

Overall, 18,62 % of the  African Endangered primates species is covered by PAs
