As a national research institute, EIAR aspires to see improved livelihood of all Ethiopians engaged in agriculture, agro-pastoralism, and pastoralism through market-competitive agricultural technologies.

Disaster Management Authority, Lesotho, is a unique national entity under The Prime Minister's office with the purpose of managing natural disasters in the Kingdom of Lesotho.

Chitedze Research Station is a public institution, which plays an important role in generating and disseminating agricultural technologies that contribute to national food and nutrition security. The station conducts demand-driven and market oriented research on crops, livestock, soils and farm machinery; develops improved and sustainable farming systems, agro-forestry, plant genetic resource conservation; and provides technical advisory services to farmers and other stakeholders in different agricultural and related fields.

The Central Agricultural Research Institute (CARI) was created to conduct both adaptive and applied research in agriculture. CARI focused on the provision of planting materials for rice, cassava, yams and a limited range of cultivars of maize, beans, and soybeans.

The Agricultural Research Institute for Development (IRAD) is a public research institute, with legal standing and financial autonomy. As the independent arm of the Cameroonian state in agricultural development, IRAD is supervised technically by the Ministry of Scientific Research and Innovation and financially by the Ministry of Finance. 

The National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) is an agency of the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) with the mandate to coordinate and oversee all aspects of public funded agricultural research in Uganda.

The Agricultural Research Council is a premier science institution that conducts research with partners, develops human capital and fosters innovation to support and develop the agricultural sector.
