Priority Areas: Water Access & Nutrition
The priority areas are determined by the Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) coefficients estimating the local relationship between access to piped water and 4 nutrition indicators (stunting, wasting, sever wasting and under-weighed children) . These areas are further restricted to locations with high child stunting prevalence (>20%, following the WHO definition) and lower water access (<80%), ensuring policy relevance. Identified areas are classified into strong, moderate, and mild associations based on the magnitude of the local GWR coefficient, facilitating prioritization of intervention intensity. partially varying coefficients enable users to identify priority areas where limited piped water access is most strongly associated with higher child stunting/wasting and under-weighed rates, thereby supporting targeted interventions, program planning, and localized development strategies. The local GWR coefficient linking water access to nutrition indicators are both negative and statistically significant.
